GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A planned operation leads to a body being recovered from the East River in Green Bay.
“(Thursday) was a safe day for divers to go down and search the bottom with our sonar to look for any missing people that have been reported.”
Police Captain Kevin Warych says they found the man’s body around 1 pm Thursday.
“Investigators were unable to identify the body, other than it being a male, due to an extreme amount of silt on the body. Based on the amount of silt and the condition of the body, it was in the water for an extended period of time. At this point in the investigation, we don’t suspect foul play. The body was clothed, and there were no visible injuries.”
The body has been turned over to the Brown County Medical Examiner for identification.
