APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A celebration for a state championship winning basketball team.
Appleton North High School held a Tuesday pep rally for its girls team, which won the Division Two title last weekend.
The Lightning beat Mukwonago 45-32.
Senior Kari Brekke says “we had our ups and downs, and I think a lot of people doubted us, but we stuck with it, stuck through it, and I think this gold ball was sweeter than last year’s.”
This is the Appleton North girls’ second consecutive state championship.
