NEENAH, WI (WTAQ) – An iconic president is back in the streets of downtown Neenah.
As part of it’s President’s Day celebration, the statue of President Abraham Lincoln has returned to its bench on the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Main Street.
The state was shipped to Colorado for repair, after being struck by a vehicle in November.
“People have come to enjoy having him. They sit and read a book with him. I see people reading books; people will come and put a scarf on him during the winter and they have a lot of fun with him. And it’s just part of what makes Neenah a really great community.”
Mayor Dean Kaufert says his office received dozens of calls asking about the missing statue.
