GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ)- Jurors have been selected for the George Burch murder trial in Brown County.
The jury is comprised of 8 men and 6 women.
Burch is accused of killing Nicole VanderHeyden in May 2016, and his trial will start Monday.
Over 100 witnesses could be used in the two week trial.
Many potential jurors were dismissed because they have heard about the case prior to jury selection, and feel they have already formed an opinion, or could not judge the case without basing it off of what they know or have heard prior to trial.
Circuit Court Judge John Zakowski addresses the juror pool Friday.
“To get sufficient information, so that the parties to this case are satisfied that the final jury, which will be selected, is fair and impartial when they deliberate. It is so extremely important: the efficient operation of our criminal justice system.”
70 potential jurors answered a 22-page questionnaire to help narrow the the field.
In court Friday, questions were also asked about the use of fitbits or other technologies.
