APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – An Appleton teacher has resigned amid allegations that he pushed a student during an argument.
The school board accepted the East High School teacher’s resignation at Monday’s meeting.
Investigators say the incident happened in the school’s weight room on the morning of January 23, claiming the 48-year-old educator physically grabbed and pushed the student during a verbal argument.
Faculty reported the alleged incident shortly after it happened.
The student was not injured.
District leaders say a substitute is in place, with the now-resigned teacher having initally been put on leave.
