GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – New names have been unveiled for two area animal shelters that recently joined the Wisconsin Humane Society.
The ‘Bay Area Humane Society’ in Green Bay is now the ‘Wisconsin Humane Society Green Bay Campus.’
Sturgeon Bay’s ‘Door County Humane Society’ is now the ‘Wisconsin Humane Society Door County Campus.’
WHS President and CEO Anne Reed says the names will be consistent with their Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Racine locations.
“A consistent name is necessary to brand recognition. The more people recognize that WHS is the organization responsible for improving the welfare of animals in their community and in Wisconsin, the more they will support our work. And we need that support to continue lifesaving services for animals and the people who love them.”
The takeover was approved in November.
