OSHKOSH (WTAQ)- A dog that was inside a vehicle that collided with a train in Oshkosh will need to undergo an expensive surgery.
The Oshkosh Humane Society said the dog is suffering from several pelvic breaks.
The crash killed the two occupants in the vehicle last Friday.
The Oshkosh Humane Society said a citizen found the dog Elsa injured inside the vehicle the next day, and have agreed to help treat Elsa.
“The cost of the surgery is estimated to be $4,500- $5,000 and if she gets the surgery the veterinarian said there’s no reason she can’t have a full, happy life,” Oshkosh Area Humane Society Executive Director Joni Geiger said in a news release.
Geiger says a donor has offered to match up to $1,500 in donations toward Elsa’s surgery.
