FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) – City of Fond du Lac officials are urging residents to check their credit card history.
Officials say they were notified by a local partner bank that a number of credit cards have been compromised, with the Walter Payment Portal as the common purchase point.
They say they were notified on December 12, with customers that made payments through the portal between August and October being at risk.
No personal information aside from credit card data appears to have been skimmed.
Residents are urged to pay their water bill via mail, city drop box, or at the city office.
Phone payments will also be accepted, with the $3 credit card fee being waived.
December late fees will also be waived, if this issues causes a customer’s payment to come in late.
