GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A $5.5-million dollar donation will be spread amongst 160 local organizations that fight poverty in their communities.
The Partnership of the Community Foundations, which is based in Green Bay, Appleton, and Oshkosh, works with the U.S. Venture Golf Open to raise the money.
Bay Area Workforce Program Operations Manager Matt Valquette says this is the first time the grant dollars exceed the golf outing’s proceeds.
“Some grants come and go and when the grant funds end, so too do those services. It’s going to have a long-lasting permanent effect in our community.”
Officials say the grants are necessary for the non-profits to fund all necessary resources.
