GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A special prosecutor is being asked to look into two separate complaints involving elected officials in Green Bay.
Brown County District Attorney David Lasee cites a conflict of interest in looking into five aldermens’ allegations that Mayor Jim Schmitt mishandled funds in connection with the Hotel Northland project.
Alderwoman Barbara Dorff then filed a complaint against those aldermen, claiming a violation of the state’s open meetings law when they introduced the allegations at an October press conference.
Both Schmitt and the aldermen have refuted the claims against them.
