MANITOWOC, WI, (WTAQ) – Manitowoc Police sent to a business on the 1100 block of South 30th Street Sunday night for a report of a robbery.
Police say two people came into the Family Dollar store and ordered the employees to the back storeroom. Their wrists and ankles were bound together.
One of the suspects displayed a weapon.
Detective Andrew Trilling says “the one employee did describe it as what they believe to be a ‘black handgun,’ but nothing any more specific.”
Trilling notes they were “told the suspects stole an unknown amount of cash and possibly some other items, more specifically: approximately 50 packs of Newport cigarettes.”
A customer later came into the store and found the employees and helped free them.
One suspect is described as a black man in his late 20’s to mid 30’s, around 5’6-5’8 tall, with black hair.
The other suspect is described as black man, 5’4 tall with black hair.
Trilling says they are looking for a vehicle in connection with the investigation.
“For us, it’s just a vehicle of interest. We don’t know if it’s a witness or if it’s the suspect. The only description we were given is that it’s a dark-colored vehicle, no make or model.”
