UNDATED (WSAU) Former Bucks player Ray Allen is asking a Florida court to dismiss stalking charges against him because he’s the victim of a catfish attempt.
TMZ Sports reports the ex-NBA guard spoke online with a number of women who all turned out to be the same man using numerous fake accounts. That man has since accused Allen of stalking him. Allen says he’s the one being stalked.
Allen filed an emergency request for a restraining order in court in Orlando, Florida. The court filing says Allen and his family were threatened, and that the subject threatened to reveal what was said in the on-line chats.
Catfishing refers to the practice of someone setting up fake profiles on social media to trick someone.
