GREENVILLE, WI (WTAQ) – A Greenville distribution center that announced earlier this week that it would be closing is instead being taken over.
Come January 1, Oshkosh Logistics, which is a subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation, is taking over the Ryder facility it previously leased.
“Oshkosh Corporation has actually been in that facility before. Now, we’re just taking over the management and the normal operations of it.”
Katie Hoxtell is Oshkosh Corporation’s marketing manager.
“Over the next couple of months, we’ll be working with Ryder to ensure continuity and a smooth business process.”
Ryder had announced it would close by December 31, with 159 employees being affected.
Hoxtell would not confirm an exact number but says current staffing levels will be maintained.
“All of the distribution positions: those have been posted, so we’re encouraging all Ryder team members to apply for those positions.”
She says Ryder employees can apply at the Greenville facility and notes anyone else can do so in the near future by visiting Oshkosh Corporation’s website.
