OSHKOSH, WI (WSAU) The Menominee tribe is buying the naming rights for the Wisconsin Herd arena in Oshkosh. The $21-million arena will be called the Menominee Nation Arena.
Tribal Chairman Gary Besaw said, “Menominee Nation is committed to building a solid foundation for future generations, and we see Menominee Nation Arena and a partnership with the Wisconsin Herd as an opportunity to do just that.” The arena’s exterior will be shaped like a thunderbird, similar to the tribal seal.
It is being constructed and is set to open before the team’s first home game November 17th. They’ll play 25 games there.
The Herd is the minor league affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks.
