GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A credit card shimmer has been found on an ATM machine attached to an east side Green Bay bank.
Investigators believe the people responsible for placing the credit card information-stealing device at Fox Community Credit Union, 1820 Main Street, first went to the ATM on September 26, installing the shimmer about a week later.
Officers suspect the shimmer was slid into the card slot from the outside, as the internal part of the machine is accessible only from the inside of the bank.
They note the thieves also installed a camera to the top of the ATM that could record people entering PINs.
Anyone with information is asked to call Green Bay Police and refer to report number 17-211750. Anonymous tips may also be left with Crime Stoppers at (920) 432-7867.
