MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) – Another disappointing loss for the Brewers.
Milwaukee (81-73) fell 5-4 to the Chicago Cubs (86-67) in 10 innings last night.
All-Star closer Corey Knebel walked in the go-ahead run in his second inning of work.
Infielder Eric Sogard got on base in the bottom half of the tenth, but he was thrown out trying to advance to 2nd base.
The Brewers’ offensive highlight came in the bottom of the second, courtesy of back-to-back solo home runs from Stephen Vogt and Brett Phillips.
Milwaukee starter Brandon Woodruff got a no-decision, surrendering four runs in five innings of work.
Knebel took the loss, dropping to 1-4 on the year.
The Crew dropped its third straight, now sitting in third place in the NL Central, 5 1/2 games behind the first-place Cubs.
