Police say they responded to reports of an armed robbery at Evans Street and East Lincoln Avenue, which is near both Emmeline Cook Elementary School and Webster Stanley Elementary and Middle School.
It was later determined the report was actually a disturbance between several known parties, and the lockdown was lifted after about 30 minutes.
While they were still trying to locate one person involved at last word, Oshkosh Police says there is no threat to the community.
The incident remains under investigation.
