MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – The leader of one of Wisconsin’s largest municipalities says the Confederate memorials in his city are being removed.
Madison Mayor Paul Soglin defends taking the monuments from the Forest Hill Cemetery by calling the Civil War (quote) “a defense of the deplorable practice of slavery.”
Many other American cities are doing the same following deadly confrontations at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia last weekend.
