BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – Cash bond has been set at $50,000 for the 26-year-old Green Bay man accused of committing an east side stabbing.
Andrew Smith faces felony charges of First Degree Reckless Injury and Aggravated Battery, along with one count of misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Smith allegedly stabbed a 33-year-old man in the chest at an apartment building in the 2700 block of Humboldt Road Thursday afternoon.
Witnesses say Smith and the victim were part of a group that was drinking and smoking marijuana when the knife attack took place.
The witnesses say they stopped the attack and called 911 as Smith left the apartment.
Smith later returned to the apartment and was arrested, telling officers he went to make amends with the victim, whom he claims fell on the knife when he attacked Smith.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries but had the blade struck one centimeter further in any direction of the his chest, medical officials say the wound would have been more critical.
