BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – Another group is voicing support for the proposed half-percent sales tax in Brown County.
The Greater Green Bay Chamber backs County Executive Troy Streckenbach’s plan to implement a temporary tax.
Streckenbach believes it would generate $147,000,000 over six years to fund various infrastucture and debt projects, inlcuding a new expo hall to replace the aging Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Other groups have already voiced support for the plan.
The Brown County Taxpayers Association is expressing concerns and wants the vote, which could happen Wednesday, to be delayed.
Residents can weigh in on the plan during a series of listening sessions.
