TOWN OF UTICA, WI (WTAQ) – A former financial adviser who was on trial for allegedly stealing from clients, was found dead along with her husband Monday morning in what authorities suspect was a murder-suicide.
Winnebago County officials say 59-year-old Dewey Josephson apparently shot his wife, 57-year-old Jean Walsh-Josephson, before turning the gun on himself.
Deputies discovered the bodies around 8:40 a.m. after Walsh-Josephson when she didn’t show up for court.
A GPS monitor on Walsh-Josephson, indicated she was still at her home on Hwy. 91 in the Town of Utica.
Investigators believe she was still alive as of 6:30 a.m.
The couple had apparently been planning their deaths.
Authorities discovered a letter to loved ones and obituaries the couple had written.
Walsh-Josephson was facing 39 criminal counts of mainly theft.
Prosecutors said she stole more than $1 million from two elderly clients.
Online court records indicate the case has been closed, but Walsh-Josephson’s $10,000 bond and assets of her estate, had been frozen.
