EAU CLAIE, WI (WSAU) The city of Eau Claire could be the next to order a living wage. City council members are expected to take up the question at Tuesday night’s meeting.
There’s no word yet what the living wage would be. There’s also no word how much more a living wage for city workers will cost taxpayers. It’s also undermined if the higher wage would apply just to city workers, or if it would also extend to contractors who do business with the city.
It’s possible that a living wage could be phased in over time.
Eau Claire County pays part time workers $11.68 an hour.
