GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Music fans who have been waiting “the longest time” for another concert at Lambeau Field will get their wish when Billy Joel holds a concert in June, sources have confirmed to FOX 11.
The concert will be scheduled for June 17.
Promoter Live Nation has scheduled a news conference for Wednesday morning at the Lambeau Field Atrium to formally announce the concert.
Tickets are expected to go on sale soon after that.
According to Joel’s website, other Midwest stops on his 2017 tour include a July 28 concert at Target Field in Minneapolis and an Aug. 11 concert at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
The Green Bay Packers, Live Nation and the stadium district board have been exploring holding a second concert with a different performer that same weekend.
However, stadium district board executive director Pat Webb says that is unlikely this year, but could happen in future years.
The last concert at Lambeau Field was a Kenny Chesney performance in 2015.
