GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – There’s a new option for veterans in our area who have trouble getting around.
The Disabled American Veterans Green Bay chapter has a new van.
The group already had vans for helping veterans keep appointments and run errands. But this van is specifically designed for disabled veterans — including people in wheelchairs.
Group officials say the new vehicle will not only help veterans become more mobile, it will also allow them to experience all Brown County has to offer.
Officials say the money for the new van came primarily from federal grants.
The remaining cost, about 20 percent of the total, came from last year’s county budget.
