OCONTO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – Two men from out of state have been arrested for allegedly traveling to Oconto County to meet underage girls.
The first arrest happened Jan. 8. Oconto police were investigating a runaway when they got word of a homeless man traveling from Oregon.
Police found 31-year-old Justin Craig and the girl together in a hotel room.
The two had been communicating over the internet.
Craig has been charged with child enticement-sexual contact.
He is due in court Feb. 9 to enter a plea.
Four days later, Oconto Falls Police were informed about a man traveling from Maple Grove, Minnesota, to meet with a 14-year-old girl.
Further investigation indicated 19-year-old Alexander Boatright planned to meet the girl in the Town of Abrams,
He was later arrested.
Authorities say Boatright admitted stealing the vehicle, crashing it and hitchhiking to Abrams to meet up with the girl, whom he had been talking to over the internet for several months.
He said he was planning to have sex with the girl and that he knew she was under 16.
Boatright has been charged in Oconto County with using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and child enticement-sexual contact.
He also faces charges in Shawano County for stealing the vehicle.
Boatright is due back in court Feb. 9
