ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Ashwaubenon Public Safety is investigating a fatal crash near the National Railroad Museum that happened Monday morning.
The driver and victim has been identified 24-year-old Ronald J. Burkhart of Green Bay.
“A vehicle went through the intersection of Cormier Road and South Broadway Street where it entered the proper of the National Railroad Museum and struck the train that was parked near the roadway,” said Ashwaubenon Public Safety Captain Jody Crocker.
Crocker says a passerby noticed the crash around 5:25 a.m. and called authorities.
Officials are working with the Brown County Sheriff’s office and Brown County medical examiner’s office trying to determine a cause of the accident.
