GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – An ambitious plan to expand the CP Center on Webster Avenue in Green Bay is heading into the home stretch.
There’s still some big bucks that need to be raised, but staff and clients can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
CP Executive Director Jon Syndergaard says 80 percent of the $7.5 million has been raised. It will finance a better than 21-thousand square foot expansion.
“Most of the space we’ll be adding to the building will be used for additional programming. And frankly, that’s due to the fact that our services are all at a breaking point”
That’s good news for people who take advantage of the many services the CP Center provides.
“We’ll be able to add significant client numbers in both our therapy services area, in our daycare area and in our adult day services area”
The biggest change will be moving therapy services, which provides occupational, physical and speech therapy. from lower level of the current facility to the main floor.
Snydergaard says right now, people are put on a waiting list because there’s not enough space and staff to accommodate them.
Groundbreaking is set for early next year, and completion of the expansion is set for 2018.
