TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ) – A house fire Saturday night killed two pets and caused about $33,000 in damage.
Two Rivers firefighters were called around 6:43 p.m. to the home in the 2000 block of Jackson Street.
Smoke was seen coming from a window and front door of the house. Once inside, crews were able to put out the fire and save a dog and a cat. A kitten and ferret died from the heavy smoke.
No residents were home at the time of the blaze.
The Red Cross is helping the family with temporary housing.
The fire remains under investigation.
