SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – A Howards Grove man accused of crashing into the side of a Town of Sheboygan home while intoxicated has made his initial appearance.
35-year-old Ryan Schuette faces one count each of 6th time OWI and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called out to the corner of Lakeshore Road and Najacht Road around 11:10 Thursday night for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. When officers arrived, they found Schuette and his father on scene, and his car smashed into the side of a house. One of the deputies handling the case says Schuette appeared to be under the influence of a drug of some sort.
Schutte allegedly admitted to deputies on the scene that he had crashed into the house, and that he’d taken some Percocet before getting behind the wheel. A search of Schuette’s vehicle allegedly turned up a drug pipe with heroin residue inside as well.
Schuette is being held on a $10,000 cash bond. He’ll be back in court for a preliminary hearing next week.
Schuette was charged in a similar case earlier this year when he crashed into the side of a home in Howards Grove. He took a plea deal in the case and paid a fine on a citation for driving without a license.
