ONEIDA, WI (WTAQ) – A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a double murder in Oneida.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that Vance Reed has been jailed, but not formally charged for the murders of Harry Brown Bear, 77, and his wife, 67-year-old Lorraine Brown Bear.
“The exact details concerning the information that led to the arrest warrant can’t be discussed at this point,” Outagamie County Undersheriff Mike Jobe told FOX 11.
Police found the couple dead inside their Beechtree Lane duplex back on September 14. At the time, officials said they had been deceased for several days.
Jobe wouldn’t comment on how Reed knew the Brown Bear’s, other than to say, “This was not a random stranger type event.”
Charges against Reed could be filed as early as Monday.
