The latest Marquette University Law School Poll
came out today and it indicates that Wisconsin might be an indicator of the split ticket effect many Congressional Republicans are hoping for. Hillary Clinton widened her lead over Donald Trump from the previous MU poll. Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson has closed the gap with Russ Feingold, down to two points.
Importantly, Johnson is outperforming Trump, which he'll likely have to do to win. The last numbers we saw indicated 8th Congressional District candidate, Republican Mike Gallagher, was strongly outperforming Trump.
If this holds to election day it would mean two down ticket Republicans will have outperformed the presidential nominee. That may be needed across the country to hold the House and Senate.
