GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump take to the stage Monday night for the first of 3 presidential debates on primetime television.
Despite it being the first match-up and polls showing an increasingly tight race between the Democrat and Republican, will people be watching?
Lynn Huempfner of White Law says it’s important to stay informed and wouldn’t miss it.
“Well, I’m hoping Donald Trump comes through. I’m hoping he calms down and talks and gets to the point…and no bashing each other. That’s what I’m hoping for.”
While others, like Rachel Willems of Ephraim wasn’t aware it was happening.
“Well, actually I didn’t realize there were debates on Monday night. If I didn’t have to work I would absolutely tune in because I think it’s important to stay informed on that kind of stuff. I personally think Hillary Clinton is a more articulate well-spoken candidate and if I was a betting person I would guess that she would do better that Trump on that platform.”
The candidates are expected to focus on America’s direction, achieving prosperity, and securing the U.S.
The debate starts at 8 p.m. on most major networks and will be moderated by Lester Holt of NBC News.
