GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Formal charges were filed on Friday against a man accused of murder in Green Bay.
28-year-old Richard McKinney is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, being a felon in possession of a firearm and bail jumping.
Police say McKinney shot and killed Guled Hirsi at a home on Cherry Street September 11. The murder allegedly happened during a drug deal.
The 20-year-old Hirsi had been suspected of burglarizing the Islamic Society of Wisconsin mosque on Green Bay’s northwest side.
