TOWN OF ROCKLAND, WI (WTAQ) – Investigators say a fire at the historic schoolhouse building in the Town of Rockland was set on purpose.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office says it has ruled the Sept. 5 fire at Lincoln School arson.
A person delivering the morning paper reported the fire around 2:15 a.m. Deputies say the building had no heat or electrical sources.
Built in 1922, Lincoln School served students until the 1960s.
After that, it was used as the Rockland town hall. The building’s current owners bought it in 1999, hoping to restore it.
