GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The man arrested in the shooting death of a Green Bay burglary suspect is being held in jail on a $2 million bond.
28-year-old Richard McKinney of Milwaukee is accused of killing Guled Hirsi on the city’s east side last Sunday in what police described as a drug deal gone bad.
McKinney made his first court appearance Friday and will return to court on September 23. A criminal complaint is due out next week.
Interviews with witnesses led them to identify McKinney as the suspect in the shooting at a home in the 700 block of Cherry Street.
The 20-year-old Hirsi was the suspect in the April 2 burglary at the Islamic Society of Wisconsin mosque on Green Bay’s northwest side.
