UNDATED (WTAQ) – Governor Scott Walker is responding to a report in the Guardian U.S. which detailed leaked documents related to the John Doe investigation into his recall campaign.
“The facts are that not one but multiple courts have shut this down,” Walker told WTAQ’s Earl Brooker during an interview Thursday. “Because they said it’s a baseless investigation. They didn’t find any reason to say that anything was unlawful.”
The Guardian report came after the British-based media outlet got over 1,000 pages of leaked documents from the secret investigation into whether Walker’s campaign illegally coordinated with outside conservative groups during the 2012 recall election.
Prosecutors have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to let them re-start the investigation. Justices will consider that request on September 26.
