GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Packers will wear all-white uniforms against the Chicago Bears on Oct. 20 at Lambeau Field – the first time the team participates in the NFL’s “Color Rush” program.
The Bears will wear all-navy kits, according to the team.
The last time the Packers wore white jerseys at home was Sept. 17, 1989, although the team wore gold pants that day.
According to the Gridiron Uniform Database, the last time the Packers wore white pants was in 1958 – the year before Vince Lombardi became head coach and designed the uniforms that remain mostly unchanged to the present day.
The Packers did not participate in the Color Rush program last year, but the league is mandating the solid sets this season.
