OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – About a thousand upper-classmen moved onto campus Monday.
And freshmen moved in Sunday.
The time has arrived. Students at UW Oshkosh have returned to move in to the on-campus dorms.
Emily Goodhall is going into her junior year.
“It’s good to see everybody. I’ve seen some old friends already, so it’s nice to get back into the swing of things.”
Goodhall talks about how much smoother the move-in process is now compared to her freshmen year.
“I kind of know the drill, and what’s expected, and how to move things in, and how to find my room and stuff. So it’s a lot more comforting than when I was a freshman.”
Upperclassmen like Colin Brault, have some additional advice for those new students.
“Make sure you get to know the people on your floor, because most of the people I met on my floor I stay in touch with this year. So it’s really good to be open to new people and new experiences and everything, just be open.”
Brandon Fuller, a sophomore, says it’s all about making contacts.
“Keep your door open, make new friends. Don’t closet yourself into your room, go out there, join a club, do sports.”
These students say the key is being open to making new friends.
Classes at UW Oshkosh don’t start until Wednesday, so all students should have time to acclimate to their new living situations.
A total of about 13-hundred freshmen moved onto campus Sunday.
