GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A sea of red swarmed over the parking outside Titletown Brewing Company on Friday evening, as fans got pumped up for Saturday’s Lambeau Field College Classic.
The UW Marching Band, cheer squad and Bucky all made appearances at Bucky’s Block Party.
Fans sang and even danced as the band pumped people up. Some fans say going to Badger away games is a tradition and they couldn’t miss a game in Titletown.
“We’ve had season tickets since 1971, and since we’ve retired we’ve been going to all the away games,” Ruben Markgraf of Lodi told FOX 11.
Other fans like Julie Bjorklund, made the trip to watch her son perform with the band.
“My son plays the drums,” said Bjorklund. “We’re all about the band the UW.”
Fans say they traveled from all over to be at the Titletown tailgate, many saying when they heard the game was at Lambeau field they knew they couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
“Green Bay is a great football town, Lambeau Field is a great stadium, a historical stadium, and it’s going to be a great time, go Wisconsin,” said alumnus David Cortz.
Cortz added even though this isn’t Madison, Badger fans are ready to show Green Bay how it’s done.
“They’re going to bring it this weekend because they are excited, they a ruckus crowd and it’s going to be scene that is unbelievable,” said Cortz.
Kickoff for Saturday’s game against the LSU Tigers is set for 2:30 p.m.
A tailgate party for LSU fans is being held at Brett Favre’s Steakhouse Saturday, starting at 11:00 a.m.
