MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Police say someone has been using counterfeit $20 bills at fast-food restaurants in Manitowoc.
Officers say they’ve received five complaints about the counterfeit bills in the past day and a half, each from a different restaurant.
The bills being used are dated 2013 and have one of two serial numbers: ML71671357C or ME56183269A. The person One of the businesses noted that the person who used the bills was driving a 2017 Chevrolet four-door vehicle with Illinois license plates.
Sheboygan police are also investigating an incident involving a counterfeit bill at a fast-food restaurant, but it’s unknown if it’s related to the Manitowoc incidents.
