SCHOFIELD, WI (WSAU) — On the same day that Presidential nominee Donald Trump is campaigning throughout Wisconsin, Senator Ron Johnson is making his own stop in Schofield.
The U.S. Senator is announcing what his campaign calls “a major coalition that will help mobilize Wisconsin Republicans’ best-in-the-nation ground game in the Wausau area and across the state.” He’ll be in Schofield Tuesday afternoon at the architectural hardware firm, Melron Corporation.
Johnson’s race against former Senator Russ Feingold could be going better for the first term Senator, as he’s currently down in the latest polls. Johnson has also been busy defending whistleblowers at the Social Security Administration office in Madison, who have said that an administrative law judge made inappropriate sexual and racial comments about claimants. The whistleblower was placed on administrative leave and escorted out of the office by two armed guards, something Johnson finds unacceptable as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
