MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ) – Charges have been filed against a Crivitz man for allegedly plotting to kill his son and his son’s wife.
76-year-old Robert Dettmering faces two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree intentional homicide.
According to Marinette County District Attorney Allen Brey, the investigation began with a citizen’s tip that Dettmering was trying to hire someone to commit the murders. An undercover agent from the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation posed as a hit man and met with Dettmering.
Prosecutors say the agent was given $1,000 from Detterming as a down payment for the killings.
Brey says Dettmering wanted to kill his son and his son’s wife over a property dispute.
On Thursday, Marinette County officials confirmed they had raided Kranky Bob’s Bar & Grill in Marinette County, as well as a home and a vehicle.
