VILLAGE OF WAUSAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) – A man was taken into custody after Marinette County deputies say he attempted to rob a bank.
The incident occurred at the State Bank of Florence in the Village of Wausaukee at 11:19 a.m. Friday.
Officials say a gas station clerk nearby, called the bank and warned them of a suspicious man who had a covering over his face, walking toward the bank.
Bank employees were able to lock the door before the man could gain entry.
As the man was leaving the bank property on foot, responding deputies detained him.
Officials say the 32-year-old was found to be armed with a handgun.
He is currently being held in the Marinette County Jail on a felon in possession of a firearm charge.
