DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) – Grab your bag and find a bunk. Sunday was move in day for Packers training camp.
Packers rookie linebacker Blake Martinez was one of the first to arrive.
“It’s a weird feeling in a sense because it’s the same set up I had in college. I don’t know if its purposely that the rookies are on the third floor and having to bring all of the stuff up, but that’s where I am at right now, and that’s where I was as a freshman at Stanford.”
Packers offensive lineman JC Tretter knows the drill.
“I can pretty much sleep on anything. I know some people need the pampered feather beds and stuff but I can sleep on a couch or any type of mattress so that stuff doesn’t matter to me. I think everyone has their own thoughts and choices on what they want to bring, but it all depends.”
There are certainly butterflies for the rookies going through this experience for the first time.
McCormick Hall is the home of the Packers officially until August 13th.
The veterans, like Tretter, are intermixing with the rookies and there certainly will be some little brother, big brother going on, as this team grows and gets to know each other.
“The older guys will razz you a little bit, but I think we do a good job of just getting everybody to have a good time. To have an older guy razz you a little bit will loosen you up and I think that’s a good thing at some point.”
Training camp starts Tuesday.
