TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ) – A woman is dead following an overnight fire in Two Rivers.
Crews were called to a home on 16th Street around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Fire chief Scott Schneider said the 60-year-old woman was living in the lower level of the building.
The upstairs residents – a woman, her 2-year-old daughter and their dog – made it out safely.
A relative of the woman who died, along with a firefighter, were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Schneider says they are not sure how the fire started. However, he says it started in the back of the house near the kitchen.
Everyone else in the home was able to get out safely.
