GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – More than halfway through the renovation of the four old Larsen Canning buildings on Broadway, there is no shortage of interest from businesses ready to move in.
Jim Kratowicz is the chief operating officer for Titletown Brewing Company.
“We had a lot of momentum with the first phase, so we’re trying to carry that forward. Things are moving pretty quick.”
The first two buildings, home to Titletown Brewing’s tap room, the Cannery, and other businesses leased to capacity in 13 months.
The milestone came 23 months ahead of schedule.
Construction on the second two buildings has been going on for six months, and already has one signed tenant ready to move in this October.
The city’s Redevelopment Authority provided preliminary approval to alter the project’s development agreement, providing city financial assistance on the second two buildings.
The cost to the city for the two buildings under construction is projected to be about $40,000 a year from construction completion through 2033.
The developer told the RDA first floor retail options for the buildings include a coffee shop, boutique clothing, and a piano or wine bar. The upper floors will house office tenants.
As construction continues, the work will receive plenty of exposure in early September when the Badgers play at Lambeau Field.
Kratowicz says Titletown is hosting a parade, concert, and fireworks the night before the game.
“They said we should expect 10,000 to 15,000 people down there, so it’s going to be a lot of fun”
