APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – An Appleton business is raising money for the Good Samaritan that helped a member of law enforcement in a dire situation.
Sky Zone Trampoline Park is donating all the proceeds from Monday to 23-year-old Andrew Maltbey, the man who helped Appleton Police Officer Stephanie Wiener during an altercation with a suspect on May 28, 2016; Maltbey and Wiener were shot.
General Manager Mike Hesler says it felt like the right thing to do.
“It’s for a great cause and a young man that could really use the help, you know, getting through his injuries that he put himself out there for.”
Normally the business is not open on Monday but as a member of the Appleton community, Hesler and the owner wanted to give back.
“Most of my team members are high school students or younger and then volunteering today, they just really stepped up and made me proud of them and proud to be a part of this company,” says Hesler.
The business has a goal of $10,000 dollars but hopes to exceed that expectation
