It was well worth the wait. The Pulaski Red Raiders softball team had their Division 1 quarterfinal game pushed back a couple of hours thanks to a rain storm in Madison Thursday morning but when they finally took the field, they simply gave the ball to Liz Pautz.
The junior pitcher was fantastic, tossing a complete game no hitter with a state tournament record tying 16 strikeouts as Pulaski dominated Divine Savior Holy Angels 8-0 to reach the state semifinals.
The Red Raiders offense put up five runs over the first two innings and watched Pautz go to work.
Pulaski (27-1) has reeled off 26 consecutive victories and will now face Stevens Point in the D1 semi’s Friday night.
