GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A video posted to Facebook showing a man being arrested by Green Bay police is drawing a response from the department.
Police have called a 12:30 news conference to discuss the video, which they confirm shows an officer making an arrest on a traffic stop at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
During the conference, Green Bay Police Chief Andrew Smith said the community police officer involved is David Van Erem and the person under arrest is 23-year-old Jesus Roberto Ramos Sanchez of Green Bay.
The video shows an officer arresting a man; bystanders can be heard claiming the man has a broken bone and taking issue with the officer’s treatment of the man.
The video had been viewed more than 53,000 times and shared more than 1,700 times as of around 11:50 a.m. Thursday.
