MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Charges have been referred by Manitowoc police against a woman after they found two neglected dogs.
Police say they were called to a home Wednesday in the 400 block of N. 5th Street. The owner was checking on his property and discovered that it appeared his tenant had not been there for a few weeks.
The landlord also found 2 dogs inside, and he took them out. The dogs had apparently not had enough food or water for some time, according to police.
Officers searched the property and said they found more evidence of animal neglect in the home.
When contacted by police, the 26-year-old woman told them she had moved out of the property temporarily and was living with her mother. The tenant’s name has not been released.
